PROJECT MANAGER I (M/F/D)

Accountibilities:

  • Ensure timely development of unique, high quality and safe product concepts/designs which meet sales and/or customer specifications and which are accompanied by credible material cost and engineering time estimates.
  • Ensure accurate and cost-effective specification of all mechanical components and materials necessary to complete projects.
  • Ensure the proper preparation and accuracy of all design documentation, including drawings and documentation for project files.
  • Effective planning and managing of project tasks to ensure mechanical engineering work is completed on schedule, with accuracy, and within established cost guidelines.
  • Provide suggestions for and implementation of other ideas to reduce cost on existing products to achieve optimum performance and minimum cost.
  • Maintain accountability for mechanical design work by monitoring project task costs and schedule adherence, initiating corrective action as necessary.
  • Provide ongoing technical support throughout the life of the project.
  • Represents the company when interacting with customers during selling, design, manufacturing, or installation/operation phases of project.

Responsibilities:

  • Project scheduling
  • Coordination with Service Division on installations and crew schedules.
  • Work with Site Team on material deliveries and inventory.
  • Create, attend, and run job specific meetings as needed.
  • Coordination with other departments including Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Shipping/Receiving, Accounting, and Service.
  • Communicate solutions and resolve issues/problems that may arise throughout the life of a project.
  • Perform regular quality and design conformance inspections on work-in-process on manufacturing floor as well as subcontract vendors.  Initiate action and assist providing technical direction to resolve product configuration and/or performance discrepancies.
  • Participate in pre-sale and post-sale meetings with customers as assigned.
  • Coordinate with Sales and Engineering on creating, processing, and communicating Change Orders as needed.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Production to monitor and maintain project budgets for material & labor through weekly labor and cost reports.
  • Work with Accounting for proper billing and problem collections.
  • Possess excellent organizational, verbal, and correspondence skills.
  • Participate in other special assignments as assigned supporting department activities, overall goals, and objectives.

Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in industrial / mechanical engineering or 2-year technical degree and equivalent experience.

Experience:
2-5 years of related project management and/or engineering experience, including custom equipment design, new product development, design calculations for sizing equipment, component selection and specification with 0-2 years in coffee processing or similar industry experience

Skills:    

  • Proficient in the use of Project Management software tools. (MS Project or equivalent)
  • Good verbal and written skills utilizing office software. (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Previous experience with heat processing equipment, conveyors, and material handling systems desired.
  • Good organization, communication, analytical and project management skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to travel, domestic and internationally, up to 25% of the time.

Job Type:
Full-time

Compensation:
$80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

Monday through Friday
