During the past months PROBAT has successfully installed a number of grinders at various customer sites. One of them is Italy-based Caffè Kimbo, formerly known as Café do Brasil. Kimbo has based its philosophy on its endeavour to offer coffee for all but not for everyone: It is dedicated to those who appreciate the abundance of nuances, the fine differences and distinctiveness and who charish every single cup of coffee every day. To enable Kimbo to perfectly process the coffees for its capsule products, in addition to the three roll grinders UW 600.3, that are already in operation, we recently installed another two three-stage roll grinders at the customer‘s. The grain spectrum of these special grinders can specifically be influenced by individually controlling the relative speed of the grinding rolls, making it possible for the grinders to master even the most difficult of tasks, such as products for capsules and ultra-fine grinds.
What seemed to be business as usual at first, turned into a project with quite a tight schedule: As Kimbo had been recording an increase in demand for single-portion coffee, it decided to extent its ground coffee capacity as quickly as possible. To this end, next to the two UW 600.3 grinders, PROBAT delivered a ground coffee plant including O2 monitoring.
The PROBAT experts incorporated all changes and improvements from previously installed grinder projects into this one right from the start, so that there was no extra need to train and familiarize the operators. After the adaptation of the recipes from the other grinders and following a test of the remote control, the commissioning could be successfully completed.
All in all this project was realized within a very short time, thanks to the flexibility of the highly skilled PROBAT technicians, who, on the customer's request, even additionally managed to implement changes in the existing plant for further optimizing production processes.
