Emmerich, Germany, May 26, 2023: PROBAT, the world market and technology leader in coffee roasting technology, is once again - as in the two previous years - named a Best Managed Company. In 2023, PROBAT receives the award for outstanding corporate governance, in particular for its ambitious customer-first strategy and measures to increase productivity. The international seal of approval for exemplary entrepreneurial thinking and action is presented by Deloitte, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, and Credit Suisse in cooperation with the Federation of German Industries.
Strategy, Productivity & Innovation, Corporate Culture, and Governance & Finance are the key value drivers in the evaluation process of the Best Managed Companies Award. The detailed elaboration and analysis of PROBAT's strengths, potentials, and challenges in these four core areas of corporate governance again formed the evaluation basis for the multi-stage competition process this year. Top-class panels from business, science, and the media accompanied the coaching and selection process, at the end of which the expert committee initially nominated PROBAT as a finalist. The award jury then finally selected the global market leader from the Lower Rhine as a Best Managed Company for the third time in a row.
For PROBAT, corporate responsibility is not just a buzzword but reflects a commitment and its aspiration to shape the global society in a future-oriented way in all aspects. Thus, the roasting machine manufacturer also meets the challenges of today's difficult times with courageous and forward-looking decisions that create long-term benefits for society and the industry. Last year, this led to the development of the world's first scalable hydrogen roasting system. This and other environmental technologies, such as high-efficiency heat recovery systems for energy savings, support PROBAT customers in making their coffee production processes more sustainable.
The opening of the PROBAT Future Factory with optimum arrangement of production and organizational areas and more efficient use of key production factors also took place last year. Here, the focus is clearly on a continuous increase in productivity in a modern working environment with attractive workplaces in the business location of North Rhine-Westphalia. This innovative ability and strength have contributed significantly to PROBAT once again being awarded the seal of approval for outstanding medium-sized companies.
The Best Managed Companies award is intended to be an inspiration and role model for other medium-sized companies to shape the future with equally strategic vision, innovative strength, a sustainable leadership culture, and good corporate governance.
Markus Seiz, Best Managed Company Program Leader and Director at Deloitte Private on the awarding of the prize to PROBAT: "Best Managed Companies like PROBAT are a strong and supporting pillar of our economy. They are drivers of innovation and at the same time "keepers of the flame" in the sense of a sustainably oriented corporate management. Such strong companies think in generations and not in quarters, which is why they deserve an award."
"Receiving the Best Managed Companies Award again shows us that the course we have taken within the guidelines of our corporate strategy is the right one to realize our vision in the long term," said a delighted Wim Abbing, President & CEO PROBAT. "Our new, ultra-modern production facility puts us in a position to implement even the most demanding projects. In addition, it is already apparent that the even more consistent customer-focused realignment of our entire process landscape will be instrumental in ensuring that, in the long term, anyone with a question about roasting and processing coffee will ask PROBAT first."
The Best Managed Companies Award was presented on May 25 at an official ceremony with the organizers, award winners, and other guests at the Classic Remise in Düsseldorf.
