Emmerich, Germany, November 23, 2022: A total of 10 jubilarians and prospective retirees were honored for their decades of service to the company during a ceremony at the PROBAT Museum of Coffee Technology last Friday. The celebrations were also attended by representatives of the circle of the Executive Vice Presidents and the superiors of the guests of honor.
After many years of dedicated service to PROBAT, President & CEO Wim Abbing and Works Council Chairman Christoph Derksen bid farewell to five employees, who enter their well-deserved retirement. In addition, two 25-year and three 40-year service anniversaries were celebrated on this day.
The jubilee and farewell celebrations have a long tradition at PROBAT, and the annual ceremony in honor of long-serving employees is a fixed part of Wim Abbing's calendar. And so, he emphasized once again in his official speech the great importance of this attachment to the company, especially in difficult times: "PROBAT has also not been spared from the current turbulent economic situation. We are proud of the will and courage of our colleagues to face new situations again and again and to remain loyal to our company over decades. And it is precisely this ability to change that is also part of PROBAT's DNA, because after more than 150 years we would not be what we are today if we had not repeatedly adapted our structures to unforeseeable circumstances at short notice. All I can say to you is thank you.”
"When employees work for a company for such a long time, it speaks for the company, of course, but especially for the people", says Christoph Derksen, seamlessly following on from the words of the previous speaker in his own address. "The intensive commitment and expertise of long-serving employees are invaluable, not only given the shortage of skilled workers. That is why loyalty and commitment are in the spotlight here today. On behalf of the entire workforce, I would like to express my sincere thanks to all of you for your many years of active support", he concluded his speech.
Finally, Abbing and Derksen wished the guests of honor all the best for the future and the soon-to-be retirees a successful transition into a phase of life with new tasks and challenges.
