Just like any other PROBAT specialty roaster, the machines of the G series are based on the drum roasting method for a homogeneous roasting product. Pneumatic openings on the machine hopper, roasting drum, and cooling sieve outlet are already included as standard for enabling a convenient operation of these roasting machines.
The roasters of the G series have a batch capacity of 60 to 150 kg and are equipped – also as standard – with a manual control system via pushbuttons. Optionally, the G series roasters can be equipped with a semi- or fully automatic control solution with a touch screen. All control options ensure reliable processing of green and roasted coffee.
The G roasting machines are also available as a hydrogen-powered version. A retrofit kit for installed roasting systems is available on request. Learn more about PROBAT's scalable solutions for the use of alternative energy sources in roasting processes here.
Thermocouples for recording machine- and process-related data enable optimum control over the roasting process for constant and reproducible roasting results.
The extended batch size range, frequency converters and the targeted airflow by means of flaps allow maximum flexibility in the aroma development of different coffee types.
The classic look can be individually rounded off by adapting different design parts according to personal preference, unique for every roastery!
The roasting machines of the G series come with thermocouples as standard to document supply air, product, and exhaust air temperature. The basic version of this roaster is controlled manually. Alternatively, the G series roasters can be fitted with a semi- or fully automatic control solution via a touch panel. In this case, the function of the ‘traditional aroma’ wheel is carried out automatically via a flap control.
DATA COLLECTION
The control solution of the G series enables safe and automatic reproduction of all stored user-defined settings via recipe management. Twelve temperature levels can be pre-defined for each recipe. A manual adaptation of recipes during the roasting process is also possible while two additional potentiometers allow for mechanical regulation of the air volume and burner capacity in steps of 1 %. The latter applies to the semiautomatic version only.
PROCESS SAFETY
Pneumatically controlled opening flaps on the bean container, roasting drum, and cooling sieve outlet ensure maximum process reliability. If equipped with a fully automatic control solution, an additional protection cover on the cooling sieve is compulsory for any G series roaster. Emergency water quenching for the roasting drum and chaff collection container of the roasting cyclone are optionally available.
