PROBAT maintains a close cooperation with the UC Davis Coffee Center, a multidisciplinary research institution affiliated with the University of California Davis. It deals with the topic of coffee as a science based on a holistic approach and dedicates its research and educational mission entirely to the needs and challenges of the coffee industry.
PROBAT supports the UC Davis Coffee Center not only by providing roasting machines for research purposes. PROBAT "Roasting Fellow" Juliet Han was also hired as roasting master and head of the coffee laboratory at the UC Davis Coffee Center thanks to the company's support. Han is currently researching the influence of different environments on the sensory profile of different coffee varieties as part of a project.
Additionally, PROBAT was the main sponsor of the Sensory Summit organized by WCR in 2020 at the UC Davis Coffee Center.
